SELECTED SERIES

The following selection highlights major bodies of work and key series created in recent years by contemporary visual artist Anna Mavroudi.

The works presented here showcase selected bodies of work developed across distinct periods of the artist's practice. Each series functions as an autonomous yet interconnected field of inquiry, shaped by sustained conceptual research, formal exploration, and material consistency. This selection serves as a curated overview of the artist's evolving practice and does not represent a complete or exhaustive record of the artist's oeuvre.

DeCa 2025 DeCa explores the archetypal geometry of consciousness through the symbolic relationship between line (1) and circle (0). Drawing from ancient symbolism and colour psychology, the series engages with emergence, wholeness, movement, and stillness as interconnected states. Rather than inviting interpretation, the works operate as acts of remembrance, reconnecting contemporary digital practice with primordial structures of thought, perception, and internal balance.

What If 2023–2024 What If transforms geopolitical cartography into a field of ethical and existential inquiry. Abstracted world maps are combined with symbolic chromatic flows derived from research into natural resources, cultural production, and collective identity. A recurring question mark functions as a conceptual trigger rather than a visual motif, positioning uncertainty as a generative force. The series invites reflection on unity, responsibility, and alternative futures, without offering prescriptive narratives or solutions.

reLIeVErs dARTs 2022–ongoing reLIeVErs dARTs approaches art as a field of presence and recalibration. Informed by colour psychology, psychotherapy, and sound perception, the series focuses on the relationship between visual rhythm, emotional balance, and spatial atmosphere. Rather than operating as representational images, the works function as perceptual states. Digital painting and photography are used to create immaterial flows that subtly influence the experience of space, continuity, and internal coherence.

Astral 2023 Astral brings together astrophotography and digital painting to translate cosmic observation into an intimate, contemplative experience. Focusing primarily on the Moon, the series reflects on its role as a temporal and existential companion to human life. Through layered digital intervention, astronomical recordings are transformed into visual meditations on time, memory, and scale. The series does not aim to explain celestial phenomena, but to register reverence, stillness, and poetic awareness.

Macal 2021 Macal is a series in which macrophotography is combined with digital painting to explore the micro-scale as an expanded perceptual field. Natural elements are photographed and digitally transformed, allowing physical reality and digital intervention to coexist within a single visual structure. The works remain intentionally untitled, encouraging active engagement and open-ended perception. Macal unfolds as a contemplative environment where nature, memory, and consciousness converge beyond fixed interpretation, emphasizing perception as an evolving cognitive process.

OntoSynthetica, the latest artistic universe conceived by contemporary artist Anna Mavroudi, operates as an expanded conceptual and visual framework within which multiple interconnected bodies of work evolve. This ongoing art project explores memory as a dynamic equilibrium between the past, conscious awareness of the present, and imaginative projection into the future. The disturbance of this delicate balance is investigated as a state of individual and collective stagnation, transformation, and potential renewal.

The Aeon Mnème Mythogenesis collection, the inaugural series within OntoSynthetica, brings together artworks organized around memory as trace, presence, and intention, synthesizing multiple temporal layers into unified, immersive visual systems and narrative structures.
